Impacting Our Community in a Spirit of Giving
The Automobile Club of Southern California has been honored with the esteemed Dimensions in Giving Award for overall excellence in giving.
In 2015 the Auto Club raised more than $445,000 for United Way’s Community Impact Fund, as well as recruiting hundreds of volunteer hours from employees to help support our work. United Way’s Dimensions in Giving Award recognizes the corporate partner that truly impacts our community through most dollars raised, active community service, and an overall commitment to FACE 2024 through contributions of time, leadership, resources, and a spirit of giving.
Addressing Generational Poverty
Beyond immediate needs for stable housing and food, families in poverty for multiple generations can feel helpless and hopeless to change their situation for the better.
With a generous $100,000 grant, the Bank of America Charitable Foundation is supporting United Way’s Workforce Development and Financial Literacy initiatives. Economic and social resources like career counseling, job training and financial planning strategies provide families and individuals with vital resources to get better-paying jobs and build sound plans to transform the future for themselves and their families.
Raising a Million Dollars—Two Years in a Row
Western Digital has given more than a million dollars to Orange County United Way through their Workplace Giving Campaign—making them the first corporate partner in 15 years to reach the million-dollar mark for the second year in a row.
In recognition of their significant impact on our community through dollars raised for United Way’s Community Impact Fund, WD was awarded with the 2014 Dimensions in Giving Award. WD’s local and global impact showcases their exemplary active community service and an overall commitment to helping people through contributions of time, leadership, resources and the spirit of giving.
