Charitable Gift Annuities

By definition, a Charitable Gift Annuity is a vehicle through which a donor transfers irrevocably to the chairty money or other property in return for the charity''s promise to pay an annuity (i.e. a fixed dollar amount) to on or more designated persons for life.  The charity can use what is left at the death of such person(s) for general purposes, unless the donor restricts it for specific purposes.
