CORPORATE TEAMS

The registration process requires the following steps:

1. Create your running team
2. Create your fundraising team
3. Get your employees to sign up for the marathon and join your company team and your fundraising team
4. Start fundraising!

First, create a running team for your employees to join:

• To create your running team, join OC Marathon’s Corporate Challenge. Fill out this application and make sure to type in Orange County United Way when it asks “Which charity will your company be Fundraising for”.
• You will be contacted by someone from the OC Marathon team. They will provide your discount details and let you know what next steps you should take and will direct you create your fundraising team for Orange County United Way!

Create your fundraising team:

• Once you receive directions from the OC Marathon team, you’re ready to create your fundraising team.
• Go to Orange County United Way’s fundraising page and click “Fundraise”.
• Choose a registration type (5K, Half Marathon, Full Marathon).
• Go through the application and choose “Create a team”.

Next have your employees sign up for the marathon, join your company team and your fundraising team:

• Have employees sign up for the marathon and join your company team:
• Click “Register” on the OC Marathon’s home page. As part of the registration process, choose your running in the corresponding drop-down menu!
• Next, have employees join your fundraising team:
• Make sure you provide your employees with the name of your fundraising team.
• Go to Orange County United Way’s fundraising page and click “Fundraise”, choose which type of event they are participating in (5K, Half Marathon, Full Marathon), and then go through the application, and choose to your team when asked “Join a Team”.

Start fundraising:

• Encourage people to donate to your team’s fundraising efforts. Share your team’s fundraising page’s URL with your friends, family, and social media networks!
• All they have to do to donate is to go to your team fundraising page and click “Donate”.

COMMUNITY OR SMALL TEAMS

First, choose how you want to proceed:

• Option 1: You want to see if your group is eligible for a bigger discount. Follow Option 1 steps.
• Option 2: You and your group members want to pay for your own registration fees using our 15% discount code. Follow Option 2 steps.

Option 1) You want to see if your group is eligible for a bigger discount:

The registration process requires the following steps:

1. Create your running team and apply for a bigger discount
2. Create your fundraising team
3. Get your group members to sign up for the marathon and join your fundraising team
4. Start fundraising!

Create a running team for your members to join and apply for a bigger discount:

• Join the OC Marathon’s Corporate Challenge. When you fill out the application, type in Orange County United Way when it asks “Which charity will your company be fundraising for?”
• Someone from the OC Marathon will assess your information and contact you with further details on next steps and discount.

Create your fundraising team:

• Wait until the OC Marathon team directs you to create your fundraising team for Orange County United Way.
• Once ready to do this, follow these steps to create your fundraising team:
  • Go to Orange County United Way’s fundraising page and click “Fundraise”.
  • Choose a registration type (5K, Half Marathon, Full Marathon).
  • Go through the application and choose “Create a team”.

Have your group members sign up for the marathon and join your fundraising team:

• Have your team members register to run in the marathon on the OC Marathon page, and tell your members how to register based on what instructions the OC Marathon staff gave you.
• Have your members join your fundraising team! Make sure you provide them with the name of your fundraising team. Follow these steps to join your fundraising team:
  • Send them to Orange County United Way’s fundraising page and click “Fundraise”.
  • Choose which type of event they are participating in (5K, Half Marathon, Full Marathon).
  • Then go through the application, and choose to your team when asked “Join a Team”.

Start fundraising!

• Encourage people to donate to your team’s fundraising efforts. Share your team’s fundraising page’s URL with your friends, family, and social media networks!
• All they have to do to donate is to go to your team fundraising page and click “Donate”.

Option 2) You and your group members want to pay for your own registration fees using our 15% discount code:

**Important: This discount code is only to be used by teams who wish to fundraise for Orange County United Way!**

• Have your group members register to run in the marathon on the OC Marathon page, and use the discount code UNITEDWAY15 to register. **Important: This discount code is only to be used by teams who wish to fundraise for Orange County United Way.**
• Have your members join your fundraising team! Make sure you provide them with the name of your fundraising team. Follow these steps to join your fundraising team:
  • Send them to Orange County United Way’s fundraising page and click “Fundraise”.
  • Choose which type of event they are participating in (5K, Half Marathon, Full Marathon).
  • Then go through the application, and choose to your team when asked “Join a Team”.

INDIVIDUALS

The registration process requires the following steps:

1. Register for the marathon
2. Create your fundraising page or join a fundraising team
3. Start fundraising!

Register to run in the marathon:

• Go to the OC Marathon page and click “Register” to sign up. Use the discount code UNITEDWAY15

**Important: This discount code is only to be used by teams who wish to fundraise for Orange County United Way!** 

Create your fundraising page or join a fundraising team for Orange County United Way:

• Go to Orange County United Way’s fundraising page and click “Fundraise”.
• Choose which type of event you are participating in (5K, Half Marathon, Full Marathon).
• Then go through the application, and under Join a Team, choose to either “Create a Team” or “Join a Team” or to fundraise as an individual, choose “I do not want to join a team”.

 Start fundraising:

• Encourage people to donate to your team’s fundraising efforts. Share your team or individual’s fundraising page’s URL with your friends, family, and social media networks!
• All they have to do to donate is to go to your individual or team fundraising page and click “Donate”.
