Orange County United Way Elects New Vice Chair and Six New Members to its Board of Directors

Irvine, CA. (August 8, 2022) – Orange County United Way announced the election of Paula Mattson, Director of Program Management for Southern California Edison, as the new Vice Chair for its Board of Directors, as well as six new esteemed board members, including:

  • Jacques Ballard, COX
  • Ido Dotan, Banc of California, Inc.
  • Joseph C. Hensley, U.S. Bank
  • Larry Labrado, Disneyland® Resort
  • Michael O’Mahoney, UPS
  • Jay Orlandi, Pacific Life Insurance Company

Paula Mattson will serve as Vice Chair for a one-year term ending on June 30, 2023. She has served on Orange County United Way’s Board of Directors since 2013 and is actively involved in Women United and the Alexis de Tocqueville Society where she is a President’s Circle member. Paula also serves on the United for Student Success℠ Leadership Council.

The six new board members were elected at Orange County United Way’s Annual Board Meeting held on June 17, 2022. Each will serve a three-year term through June 30, 2025.

Parks, President and CEO of Orange County United Way. “Paula has been an active champion for Orange County United Way’s programs since she joined our board eight years ago and she is well-equipped to serve as Vice Chair. Additionally, these six new members are exceptional individuals and great additions to the group. They all bring valuable perspectives and leadership that will allow us to continue improving lives in the Orange County community.”

Jacques Ballard is currently the Director for COX, where he supports the growth of the company by ensuring delivery of the highest quality services to the customer. He oversees day-to-day operations for installation, service and maintenance of the Cox HFC/Fiber plant network and coordinates with corporate leadership and all functional departments to achieve the successful completion of overall business objectives. He also oversees a team of frontline employees, leaders, technical and administrative staff. Ballard has a bachelor’s degree from USD and an MBA from San Diego State University.

Ido Dotan is the Executive Vice President, General Counsel of Banc of California, Inc. He has extensive experience in corporate securities, mergers and acquisitions, and structured finance, along with managing in-house legal departments that support multiple business lines. Dotan graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Southern California and received his juris doctorate from the same.

Joseph C. Hensley is Market President – Orange County for U.S. Bank, where he has been working since 2007. He has 41 years of banking experience where he has led the Consumer Lending Group for a large super regional bank and later moved to commercial banking. Hensley graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in business from McKendree University. He also serves on the boards of Cal State Fullerton and the Orange County Business Council.

Larry Labrado is the Director of Corporate Social Responsibility and Strategic Initiatives for Disneyland Resort where he is responsible for the company’s engagement with key civic organizations and creating opportunities that strengthen public relationships. He serves on the Cal State Fullerton Philanthropic Foundation board of governors, Hospitality and Training Academy’s Diversity Task Force, and volunteers with a variety of civic organizations that focus on social justice issues. He earned his bachelor’s degree from California State University, Fullerton.

Michael O’Mahoney is the Vice President of Finance for the West Region at UPS. In this role, he manages all financial planning and reporting for the western half of the United States. He has enjoyed a 16-year career with UPS since joining in 2006. O’Mahoney received his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Kentucky.

Jay Orlandi serves as Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Pacific Life where he oversees the Enterprise Law, Compliance, Governmental and Policy Affairs, and Corporate Secretary departments. He has over 20 years of legal experience and is a member of the Pacific Life Executive and Management Committees. Orlandi has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania and a juris doctorate from Southwestern Law School.
