Nearly $100,000 Raised at Orange County United Way’s First-Ever Golf Tournament Celebrating 100-Year Anniversary

Irvine, CA (September 19, 2024) – Orange County United Way continued celebrating its 100 year anniversary with its “Journey to 100” Golf Tournament on Monday, September 9 at The Huntington Club in Huntington Beach, California. The event brought together golf enthusiasts and philanthropists to raise funds to support Orange County residents.

The event raised close to $100,000 to directly support Orange County United Way’s mission to ensure local students succeed, families gain financial security, those experiencing homelessness find a place to call home, and residents are connected to the resources and services they need.

“The ‘Journey to 100’ Golf Tournament was a fun way to celebrate a century of Orange County United Way and all of the great work that has been achieved together throughout the years,” said Susan B. Parks, President and CEO of Orange County United Way. “Through friendly competition on the course we connected with our partners, sponsors, and the broader Orange County community. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has joined us on this remarkable journey.”

The event commemorated 100 years of Orange County United Way and a look towards the next 100 years of supporting the local community. The day-long tournament consisted of 18 holes of golf, an awards dinner, and a silent auction. Karen Grundhofer and Jeff Petsche served as Co-Chairs of the tournament.

“On our ‘Journey to 100,’ we are reminded of the incredible impact that can be achieved when a community comes together with a shared vision of creating positive change and building brighter futures for all,” said Karen Grundhofer.

“We are truly grateful for the support, and the knowledge that every swing of the club helped drive our vision to create a better Orange County. This was an event to remember and a great way to set the course for the next century of caring. We look forward to another golf tournament in 2025,” added Jeff Petsche.
