SparkPoint OC provides much-needed free resources and services to families on the path to financial stability and independence

Irvine, CA (February 26, 2026) – Orange County United Way is proud to announce the launch of its newest SparkPoint OC Financial Empowerment Center at Danbrook Elementary School in Anaheim, bringing critical financial case management and supportive services directly to families in one of the community’s highest-need schools.

With 94% of Danbrook Elementary students eligible for free and reduced-price lunch, the school community faces significant economic challenges. This new SparkPoint OC Center will provide individualized financial case management services designed to help families increase income, reduce debt, improve credit, and build long-term financial stability.

“Families of students at Danbrook Elementary now have an opportunity to access free SparkPoint OC services to help them achieve their financial goals and move toward long-term stability and self-sufficiency,” said Andrew Fahmy, Executive Director of the United for Financial Security initiative. “Our goal continues to be empowering parents to build financial stability, while fostering a more secure and supportive environment where students can thrive academically.”

SparkPoint OC takes a holistic, family-centered approach to financial empowerment. Through personalized goal setting and ongoing support, families will have access to resources including employment assistance, benefits screening, financial education, tax preparation and connections to additional Orange County United Way programs and community partners.

“The SparkPoint partnership represents a powerful investment and belief in our families and community. Through this program, families’ lives will be positively impacted and our commitment to the potential of every child we serve is amplified. On behalf of our Board and our entire school community, we express heartfelt appreciation to Orange County United Way for this meaningful collaboration,” said Norma E. Martinez, Superintendent of the Centralia Elementary School District.

Over the past year, Orange County United Way has also supported Danbrook Elementary in a variety of other community-building initiatives, including painting two community murals, in-classroom reading days, a back-to-school drive which provided 200 students with backpacks of school supplies as well as 150 holiday gifts to students through the SparkJoy Program.

“We are grateful for our strong and growing partnership with Centralia School District and Principal Rios at Danbrook Elementary. This new center represents another important step toward ensuring that every family has the tools and support needed to achieve long lasting financial stability,” added Fahmy.
