The Alexis de Tocqueville Society represents a distinguished community of philanthropists who believe in leading with generosity and purpose. Joining this giving society is more than a commitment—it’s an opportunity to stand alongside others who share your values and your vision for a stronger, more resilient community.
The hallmark of an Alexis de Tocqueville Society member is a special level of commitment to making a positive impact. Across the United States, there are nearly 25,000 members working together to change lives.
Orange County United Way’s Alexis de Tocqueville Society is a strong alliance of more than 300 local philanthropists who give $10,000 or more a year in support of United Way’s programs, which directly address the biggest human challenges in Orange County.
We are grateful to our members who show their passion by contributing time, talent, and financial resources to help transform Orange County.
Donate $10,000 or more today.
As a member, you’ll connect with like-minded individuals who are deeply invested in creating meaningful change. These relationships go beyond traditional networking, offering a space to engage with peers who are thoughtful, community-minded, and driven by impact. Through curated gatherings and conversations, you’ll gain new perspectives, deepen your understanding of local needs, and build connections that are both personally and professionally enriching.
Membership also offers access to elevated opportunities to engage. You’ll receive invitations to special events designed to inform, inspire, and connect—bringing you closer to the work and the people at the heart of it. These experiences provide a unique window into the difference your support makes across the community.
Most importantly, your investment fuels real, local impact. Your generosity helps expand critical programs, respond to emerging needs, and create lasting pathways for individuals and families to build brighter futures. It’s a powerful way to ensure your philanthropy is both strategic and transformative.
As one of Orange County United Way’s most generous and dedicated supporters, your commitment will be recognized and celebrated. But beyond recognition, membership in the Alexis de Tocqueville Society is about belonging—to a group of changemakers who understand that true impact happens when passionate people come together with a shared purpose.
Members of the Tocqueville Society invest $10,000 or more annually, making them eligible to join one of two giving levels.
Our most prestigious level, made up of the distinguished few who demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to social responsibility, dedicating their entire annual investment to Orange County United Way’s mission.
Those who dedicate at least $3,500 of their $10,000 contribution to our local work become members of our esteemed Philanthropy Circle.
