Our Commitment to Safeguard Our Donors’ Privacy
Orange County United Way will not sell, trade, rent or share our donors’ names, personal and/or financial information with any other entity (including vendors, partner agencies or any other third parties), nor send mailings to our donors on behalf of other organizations. Orange County United Way is committed to protecting and safeguarding all information received both online and offline, on any Platform (“Platform”, includes the Orange County United Way website), as well as any electronic, written, or oral communications.
Normal website usage
Orange County United Way has a strong commitment to Internet privacy. You can visit most portions of unitedwayoc.org without revealing any personal information or telling us who you are. The only information we collect from a normal website visit is the name of your Internet service provider, the browser and type of machine you are using, the website that referred you to us, the pages you request, and the date and time you request them. We use this information to generate statistics and measure site activity to improve the usefulness of Orange County United Way’s site to our visitors.
Collection of personally identifiable information
Orange County United Way may collect names, email addresses, mobile phone numbers, and other personally identifiable data about visitors when such data is voluntarily submitted to unitedwayoc.org, submitted via United Way contests, and/or submitted through our marketing service providers.
To enter a United Way contest or other promotional activity, you may need to provide certain personal information to us. We may use the personal information you provide to us to administer these programs. This includes using the personal information you provide to contact you, as well as sharing your personal information with organizations that provide contests or promotional services on our behalf. Some of these organizations may have additional rules, which may contain further information about how that organization uses personal information. We encourage you to read those rules carefully before participating in any United Way contest or other promotional activity. Orange County United Way makes every effort to ensure the secure collection and transmission of sensitive user information using industry accepted data collection and encryption methodologies.
Cookies, similar technologies and how we use your information
Additionally, we may also implement a Twitter website tag to collect conversion tracking data and collect data for remarketing purposes. The website tag for remarketing collects visitor cookie IDs and allows us to serve you tailored ads and opportunities based on your interests. You may opt out of Twitter’s collection of remarketing data here.
