Sparking Hope For More OC Residents

When you’re struggling to make ends meet, you might not have time or know where to get access to tools and resources that can help you get back on your feet. That’s why United Way created SparkPoint OC: one-stop Orange County financial empowerment centers where hard working, low-income residents can access a full range of free services directed to help them walk the path to self-sufficiency and success.

Now, SparkPoint OC clients in Westminster can take advantage of a Virtual Empowerment Center, provided by the Orange County Housing Opportunities Collaborative (OC HOC). As part of the Virtual Counselor Network©, this new feature bundles integrated services including rental and first-time home buying assistance, foreclosure prevention, legal support, tax assistance and credit counseling. Currently, the Virtual Counseling Network offers clients the ability to choose from 120 Virtual Counselors, available to help provide services in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Korean and more than 55 other languages.

United Way supported the expansion of the Virtual Empowerment Center through the generosity of US Bank and the Citi Foundation so that more hard-working, low-income individuals and families have the opportunity to increase their income, manage credit, build assets and plan for their future. Through innovative programs and initiatives like SparkPoint OC and the Virtual Empowerment Center, we are working to increase the percentage of financially stable families in our community by 25% between now and 2024. Learn more about how SparkPoint OC is igniting hope in our community.
